Coquille at Martinique

"We had a great time. 8 kids, 8 adults.
Pros:
House is great for a large family. Spaces were separated enough with the 3 floors.
Complex had nice pools, beach access, pickleball/tennis, gym...nice quiet complex.
The golf cart was fantastic!!!!

Cons:
Not many.
Strict rules on vehicles.

The family that owns the property has appointed the house nicely with comfortable furniture and most of the kitchen items you would ever need. The new 6 seater golf cart was so much fun and made everything convenient. We even rode in the complex 4th of July parade!

"Our stay at Couguille did not disappoint. We had a total of 12 -8 adults and 4 children and had plenty of room for everyone. The open layout was great and the screened in porch was a big hit. We enjoyed being able to use the grill the only little minus was it advertised as a six bedroom and the sixth bedroom was a landing area at top of the third floor off another bedroom. There were bunk beds in this area and was perfect for two grandkids but it had no door at the stairs so we were afraid to let them sleep in there by themselves. The house came with plenty of beach/pool supplies and also had two golf carts that was enjoyed by all. We put all our beach stuff in a truck and set up on beach and was able to leave it all week and used golf carts to go back and forth. The community had two pools, one by the beach and a smaller one really close to the house that we used the most. Overall a great vacation house for our crowd "

"The house was amazing and gave us the right amount of space for our crew. The home was clean and comfortable and we felt right at home. The access to the beach and pools was great and we loved Martinique and the area. Fewer crowds and plenty of room for all the guests. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking. This was our first family trip since the pandemic hit.
A couple of critiques on the house-it would’ve nice to have more towels and also step out mats for the shower/baths.
We spent the week without a dishwasher, which was a huge inconvenience as we were eating mostly at home in order to stay away from COVID. I know getting parts is not easy these days but I did not like that we spent beach time at the kitchen sink. "

"We loved this house with plenty of room for our family reunion of 14 people. There was plenty of hot water so even the last person showering had hot water. The four bikes and two golf carts got us to and from the beach quickly, even though it is an easy walk. The extra fridge in the garage was great to store water bottles and the ice maker was a hit. "

"Our family of eight stayed at Coquille at Martinique this summer for the first time. Our stay was during the COVID19 pandemic and it was the best decision for our 2020 summer vacation. The beach community is located in a secluded and relaxing area in Fort Morgan. We felt completely safe in this community. It was not in a crowded area and we had little contact with people outside our own family. Normally this would not necessarily be a positive but for this particular time it was awesome. The house was clean and private. The beach sits next to the nature reserve, therefore, there are no high rises to one side of you. It was the perfect vacation home for us."

"This home was perfectly located in Fort Morgan, just 10 minutes past Gulf Shores. We loved being in this development, and the home was a quick walk to the beach or use one of the two golf carts to be there in 60 seconds. We also loved one of the pools being right there at the beach. The private nature of the beach was much more desirable than the more crowded beach right in Gulf Shores. Also, we left our canopy up all week and didn't have to take our chairs back to the house every day. The home itself was great. We loved the screened porch, and the open layout of the kitchen and living room. We cooked most of our meals and this kitchen had everything we needed- including some basics (spices, olive oil etc). There was not one thing that we found broken in this home- a rarity in a rental. We loved the home and it provided plenty of space for our large group. My only "complaint" if you will is that it was advertised as a 6 bedroom, which is what we needed. I was disappointed to learn that one of the "bedrooms" was basically two bunk beds but no door for privacy. We had planned on two teenage girls to sleep there but with zero privacy we had to reconfigure sleeping arrangements and ended up having to utilize the sleeper sofa (very uncomfortable) which was not in the original plan. That too lacked privacy but we made it work. Other than that, the bedrooms and bathrooms were decorated very nicely and everything seemed very clean. One other thing to note, bring plenty of towels for the beach and extra for the bathrooms. We would definitely consider renting this home again. MGT was great although we really didn't have any reason to contact them. "

"The rental property was absolutely wonderful. It is the best home we have stayed in. Everyone had their space. The larger grill was much appreciated allowing dinner to be ready sooner. We've renewed for next year !"

"We enjoyed our stay at Coquille. The house was big enough to accommodate our large group. The golf carts were a huge hit with the kids and came in handy transporting to and from beach. The screened in back porch was nice. The house had lots of beach toys. We did have a couple of issues - the fridge wasn't working properly and due to a statement in the house rules that stated we would be charged if we called maintenance and they found it to be working properly we waited to call. We did call the 2nd day and a service guy came out. We had to let the fridge defrost for 12 hours and then plug it back in. It seemed to work ok after that. Luckily there was a second fridge in the garage. We discovered there were no sheets for the sleeper sofa upon checking in - called immediately and was told they would bring some out, called back around 5 and was told that the office was closed and they would pass along the info. It was the next day before we got our sheets so we had to make do with sleeping on a comforter. Other than that we enjoyed the neighborhood and beach. "

"Our family drove from Missouri and Arkansas to stay at this property. It was a beautiful home in a beautiful community. Beach and pool were a short walk away, there were also 2 golf carts and 4 bicycles provided. The screened-in porch (complete with a ceiling fan) was great. We usually rent a condo overlooking the beach/gulf, but for our larger group we sacrificed that and it worked out well. We were disappointed when we got ready to cook burgers on the grill to realize that the gas tank was empty and I was told when I called that it was our responsibility to fill it. Also had to call to get the door code as it was not texted to me and it was not the last 4 digits of our reservation code as it stated in the app. Be aware you are 11 miles from Gulf Shores if you like to do a lot of activities other than the beach and pool. All in all it suited our needs and we had a great trip."

The grill is really an added bonus, we don't require our owners to have those, so that is something that falls on the guests. Since everything else is fully stocked, it is a small detail to attend. "Great place for our entire family of 8 plus my son’s friend. The home was very nice and with plenty of room for our group. Coquille at Martinique was a good location to get away from the crowds but only 15-20 drive if you wanted the choice nice restaurants, shopping and family fun “ go-cart racing & other”. We enjoyed meals with the family at the home and in Gulf Shores/Orange beach. Even though it’s not right on the beach the 2 golf carts were perfect for getting us and all our things to the pool board walk. The family did enjoy using the golf carts to cruise the neighborhood and get to the pools. The beach was nice and not crowded which we enjoyed. Again we enjoyed our family time at Martinique. "

"This house and location was the best for our mini family reunion. We had fourteen people and everyone slept comfortably. Martinique on the Gulf has all the amenities needed for a good vacation and the maintenance staff was always there very quickly for the few times we needed them. This is our third time here and we will certainly come back again."

Plenty of room, nice screened in back porch with ceiling fan, extra refrigerator in garage, golf cart was great for getting everyone to the beach, along with a wagon for beach stuff. Sunset was great at communicating and responding to requests. Walmart and restaurants are 20 minutes away."

"The house was nice, everything was as advertised, the staff at Sunset Properties and Martinique were friendly. The A/C on the second floor stopped working on Day 2, they had it fixed in about 4 hours. There are not too many restaurants/stores, etc. nearby, but this did not cause problems."
